Should we fear God? What is the Bible truth on this? Many christians continue in their old sinful ways, partly because the fear of the LORD is not in them.
I think too many Christians focus only on the loving character of God and forget His other characteristics, as the Bible reveals, God has many characters ..... Deuteronomy 4:24 ....'For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.'
Exodus 34:6-7 ...'And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.' ..... God is a loving, merciful, gracious and longsuffering God. But He is also jealous and vengeful and those who continue in sin, He will not let go unpunished.
Below I have just listed Bible verses to do with the fear of God. I will let you decide for yourself if you should fear the LORD your GOD.
